Ben Cahn re-signs with Solomon Kings FC for 2027

Solomon Kings FC have confirmed that Ben Cahn will continue as Head Coach for the 2027 season, having led the side in their inaugural campaign.

The English-born Australian saw his team narrowly miss out on a semi-final play-off spot in 2026 by just a single point and will be keen to build upon their experience when the new season kicks off in January.

Cahn took the Solomon Kings job ahead of the 2026 campaign with professional coaching experience already under his belt. He served as Assistant Coach at Central Coast Mariners and as Head Coach of Brisbane Roar, both in the Australia A-League.

As well as his club duties, Cahn has been Head Coach of the Solomon Islands men's national team since 2025.

There's certainly no shortage of incentive for Cahn and his players next season, with yesterday's confirmation that Honiara's National Stadium will host the finals series and the final itself on Sunday, June 6.

The nation's capital provided a passionate and loud atmosphere during 2026's Round 4 of the Pro League, though Solomon Kings struggled on home turf, drawing with South Melbourne FC before losing 1-0 to eventual champions Auckland FC.

There's now just over three months for Cahn to prepare his squad for 2027, with the Kings kicking off their campaign in the opening match of the season, when they take on Vanuatu United FC on Friday, January 22 in Australia.
