Teams have been busy strengthening their squads ahead of the new campaign, with Vanuatu United particularly busy, whilst a number of players have been grabbing the headlines in domestic and international action across the region.
Pro League stars light up MSG Prime Minister's Cup
A number of Pro League talents have been catching the eye in the MSG Prime Minister's Cup, being held this year in Fiji.
Tony Kaltack was on target for Vanuatu, as they narrowly lost 2-1 in their opening fixture to Papua New Guinea.
Meanwhile, Fiji played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Solomon Islands in Suva. Bula FC trio Roy Krishna, Maikah Dau and Thomas Dunn found the net for the hosts, whilst Solomon Kings duo Jayroll Patty and Javin Wae were on the scoresheet for Solomon Islands.
Wae scored his second of the tournament on match day two, netting a last minute clincher as Solomon Islands overcame New Caledonia 2-0. Wae's club team mate Rafa Le'ai had opened the scoring.
Vanuatu responded to their opening day disappointment with a vital victory over Fiji. The only goal of the game coming from Vanuatu United's Kalfter Kaltack.
Vanuatu United bolster ranks
Last season's semi-finalists Vanuatu United have been busy in the transfer market, adding a number of players to their squad as they look to improve in 2027.
Defender Jeffrey Tasso comes in to help strengthen the backline, whilst midfielder Claude Aru and forward Joe Moses also put pen to paper, as the Chiefs continue their preparations for next season.
The trio had impressed in Galaxy FC's run to the OFC Men's Champions League semi-finals earlier this year.
PNG Hekari end league season on a high
Papua New Guinean side PNG Hekari FC finished their domestic season with a win, securing a 2-0 victory over Lae City in the PNG.
Stand-in captain Judahbill Asar scored a goal in each half as the Pro League side signed off for the year on a winning note.
Heartbreak for Christchurch United
Christchurch United were denied qualification to the NZ National League, following a devastating defeat to Western Springs AFC in Auckland.
Needing just a draw to advance, the south island side went down 2-0, missing out by just one point.
South Island United contingent Callum Kennett, Oli Van Rijssel, Lewis Partridge, Charlie Beale and Riley Grover all started for Christchurch United, whilst Auckland FC pair Reid Drake and Oscar Mason lined-up for Western Springs.
In a cruel twist of fate, Western Springs second goal came courtesy of South Island United's Jackson Manuel.
South Melbourne FC prepare for busy October.
2026 has been a busy year for South Melbourne FC, with the Australian side finishing runners-up in the inaugural OFC Pro League, before enjoying a memorable run to the final of the Australian Cup.
They will face Melbourne Victory in the showpiece occasion on October 10, but will have a little time to rest, with the Australian Championship kicking off on October 17.
Hellas have been drawn in Group A, beginning their campaign away to Sutherland Sharks before their home opener against Sydney United a week later.
