2026 OFC Pro League semi-finalists Vanuatu United FC are spending the offseason making a significant recruitment statement, as they prepare for next season.
Having been one of the standout teams in 2026, the Port Vila-based side are keen to build on their excellent campaign and challenge for the championship.
Earlier this month, the club announced the triple signing of Jose Moses, Jeffrey Tasso and Claude Aru to strengthen their ranks. The trio had been influential in Galaxy FC's run to the semi-finals of the OFC Men's Champions League in Fiji.
The club then followed up that announcement with the addition of defender Jack Wanemut, full-back Henry Namatak, midfielder Andrew Malakai and the experienced Bong Kalo.
Namatak, Malakai and Kalo were also in Galaxy FC's Champions League squad.
Left-back Semici Kaltack was the next to put pen to paper, before forward Tony Kaltack confirmed he had signed a new deal, having played with the club in 2026.
The latest arrival sees an exciting overseas acquisition, with Danish goalkeeper William Tønning joining the squad. The stopper was on trial with the club during their successful two-match series against A-League side Central Coast Mariners and is familiar with the region, having spent time with New Zealand's Napier City Rovers.
Time will tell if Vanuatu United can go a step better and challenge for silverware in 2027, but it appears as if strength in depth certainly won't be a problem!
