It's a bumper edition of our weekly OFC Pro League offseason update today, with a number of high-profile stories hitting the wires!
The OFC U-19 Men's Championship in Samoa has reached a conclusion, whilst South Melbourne FC make cup history and Auckland FC say goodbye to one of their 2026 title-winning heroes.
South Melbourne set final date
Last season's finalists South Melbourne FC have become just the third non-A-League side in history to reach the final of the Australia Cup, following their 3-1 victory over Lions FC in the final four.
Sinisa Cohadzic's side will now face city rivals and four-time A-League champions Melbourne Victory in the final at AAMI Park on Saturday, October 10.
Final goalscorer crosses the ditch
Auckland FC will be without forward Matt Ellis for their title defence in 2027, with the New Zealander penning a one-year deal with A-League side Perth Glory this week.
Ellis way a key figure as Luke Casserly's lifted the trophy at Eden Park in May, scoring their second goal in the final as they overcame South Melbourne FC 2-1.
He was also a part of Auckland City's successful OFC Men's Champions League campaign this year in Fiji, grabbing the second goal in their 2-0 win over Central Coast FC in the final.
Pro League stars lift silverware in Samoa
New Zealand came out on top in the final of the OFC U-19 Men's Championship in Apia, working hard to secure a 2-0 win over Tahiti in the final.
Both sides included a number of Pro League stars, with Tahiti United trio Niuhau Firiapu, Kalï Lenoir and Bradley Ruiz all starting the final.
2026 Pro League title winner Bailey Ferguson took home the Golden Ball award as the tournament's best player, whilst Solomon Kings' Jayroll Patty shared the Golden Boot with New Zealand's Harley Hill as top goalscorer, with Solomon Islands finishing third.

Vanuatu United sweep A-League opposition
Last season's semi-finalists Vanuatu United have secured two wins from two in their 2026 PacificAus Sports Challenge series against Central Coast Mariners.
A 3-2 win in the first game was followed up by a 1-0 victory in the second fixture - both played at Freshwater Stadium in Port Vila.
The series made history as the club's first official games to be played on home soil.
Christchurch United on brink of domestic progress
South Island United talent have been instrumental in propelling Christchurch United to the brink of qualification for the 2027 NZ Football National League.
A 3-0 win over Western Suburbs FC means that they now only need a point from their final match against Western Springs AFC on September 19 in Auckland to seal their place in the National League.
Bula FC take in BOG
Fiji's Bula FC made their presence felt at the Battle of the Giants in Ba this week.
The team set up a booth at the event, with captain Roy Krishna, Head Coach Stephane Auvray and forward Kaile Auvray in attendance to meet fans, take photos and support the local community.
MSG Prime Minister's Cup kicks off
There is a distinct OFC Pro League flavour to this year's MSG Prime Minister's Cup, which kicked off in Fiji this week.
Five teams take part, with Vanuatu as defending champions, having beaten Papua New Guinea in 2025's final, hosted in Port Moresby.
Last season's gold medalists boast a number of Pro League stars, with the likes of Azariah Soromon, John Alick, Kathy Iamak and Kaltfer Kaltack all selected. Surprisingly however, there is no place for Pro League Golden Boot winner Alex Saniel.
Solomon Islands have also selected a strong squad, with Phillip Mango, Javin Wae, William Komasi, Rovu Boyers, Raphael Le'ai and Jayroll Patty providing plenty of experience.
Last year's finalists Papua New Guinea have included Pro League stalwarts Dave Tomare, Ati Kepo and Rex Naime, whilst Fiji have selected exciting young duo Maikah Dau and Ryan Naresh.
